AMOMAX®-CASALE - Optimized synthesis catalyst for ammonia converter
The Ammonia converter is the heart of plant back-end and its efficiency has a strong impact on the overall plant performances such as production, energy consumption and emissions.
To help our Clients achieving better plant performances, CASALE and CLARIANT jointly developed AmoMax®-Casale: this is an optimized catalyst for ammonia conversion improvement.
AmoMax®-Casale is a customized evolution of the well-known, wustite-based catalyst, AmoMax® 10. While retaining the same superior resistance to ageing, poisoning and mechanical strength, AmoMax®-Casale is significantly more active.
The presentation shows how AmoMax®-Casale improved technical features lead to tangible energy saving in different licensor plants.
Results of its first industrial application will be also presented and discussed.

Marco Mazzamuto Carlucci
Senior Process Engineer
Marco Mazzamuto graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan in 2012.
He has been working with CASALE in the Syngas Process Department since 2013.
He is involved in the design, revamping and start-up of ammonia plants.
Marco Mazzamuto today holds the role of Senior Process Engineer.
