Casale Complex Fertilizers process - NPKs

Casale NPK Dual Pipe Reactors technology is the process scheme nowadays proposed as baseline technology for the production of complex fertilizers likes but not limited to DAP, MAP, NP, NPK.
Casale’s Technology foresee the use of a Dual Pipe Reactors Process as the places where the acids are neutralized whit ammonia, which is integrated into an improved conventional drums granulation configuration.
Casale’s Technology provides the highest flexibility by offering the possibility to operate with one or two pipe reactors (GPR or GPR+DPR).
Thanks to this solution it is always possible to:

  • control the ratio of solid phase to liquid phase;
  • control granulator heat balance (excess of heat generally produces excess of oversize);
  • obtain and keep the lowest possible recycle ratio, increasing plant flexibility and lowering total investment cost.

The main advantages are:

  • Higher Loop efficiency.
  • Low maintenance cost.
  • High ammonia and P2O5 efficiencies.
  • Low environment pollution.
  • Better process control.
  • High on-stream factor.
  • Low utility consumption.

The presentation highlights the major features of this technology.

Presenter

Gabriele Marcon

Solid Fertilizers Technology Leader

Mr. Marcon is a Solid Fertilizers Technology Leader active in the development and design of Nitrate and Phosphate as well as Urea plants with a main target to the finishing section as granulation, fattening and prilling plants.
Gabriele have also a large experience in the Nitrate, phosphate and Urea technologies for which he developed both revamping and new plants project, with experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of prilling and granulation units.
His past work experience is with Tecnimont as a Process Engineer. Mr. Marcon graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padua, Italy.
