Metafrax’s AUM Project is a large and complex project, never undertaken so far, aimed at expanding the product mix of one of the biggest Russian producers of methanol and downstream resins, making full use of some low-value off streams. The new products are melamine and urea.
Construction works of Navoyazot’s new nitric acid plant (Navoy, Uzbekistan) is progressing unhindered. All major equipment has been installed, the main buildings erected, all piping prefabricated and 80% of them already installed. The rate of progress is fully in line with the expected start-up at the beginning of next year.

Casale and Borsodchem, a subsidiary of Wahua Chemical Group (China) have sealed a contract for the supply of a new 660 MTD, nitric acid plant at the Kazincbarcika factory in Hungary.

IFFCO, a large Indian fertilizer producer and marketer, has signed off the official acceptance certificate of one of the largest fertilizer revamping project recently carried out in India, involving 13 plants (5 ammonia and 8 urea, respectively, located on 3 sites far apart each other), originally commissioned between the 70’s and the 90’s.
Casale and Orica have agreed a deal for the acquisition, by Casale, of Orica’s complete process and know-how to produce Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN).
