Casale key technologies for a new Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) complex

Casale is pleased to announce that Smartchem Technologies Limited (STL), a 100% subsidiary of Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL), a trusted chemicals and fertiliser manufacturer in India, performed ground-breaking ceremony and foundation stone laying of its at Gopalpur Industrial Park on 9th December 2021.

The plant has the best-in-class technology from Casale, that will ensure the utmost safety working conditions and the lowest possible emission.

The new fertilizer complex which will include three complementary Casale technologies:

  • one 900 MTD Nitric Acid plant, based on Casale’s proprietary NA2000 process (Dual Pressure);
  • one 1143 MTD Ammonium Nitrate Solution plant incorporating Casale’s AN2000 Pipe Reactor technology;
  • one Prilling Unit capable to produce 1’000 MTD of either High Density Ammonium Nitrate (HDAN) or the same amount of Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN), based on the newly acquired technology from ORICA for this product.

For all the above mentioned units Casale will supply:

  • licenses;
  • know-how;
  • revalidation of the original Basic Design;
  • proprietary items;
  • follow up of design engineering;
  • site assistance.

This highlights Casale’s ability to act as a single source provider of all key technologies and services, even in case of a complex and diversified industrial plant.

The emission and discharge from the plant will be among the lowest and will be equipped with advanced NOx / N2O abatement technologies.

The project, which will provide employment to 1,500 people during project phase and 325 people during the operation phase, is expected to be completed by August 2024, 50% of the engineering work is already completed and the piling work will begin from January 2022.
