Uzbekistan to boost local production of fertilizers thanks to Casale technologies

16 June 2021

Casale is happy to announce that it has been selected by Messrs. Enter Engineering Pte. to provide the license and engineering design of a new 495’000 ammonia plant to be set up in Karakul, Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. Furthermore, Casale will have the opportunity to participate in the future development of the project.

The ammonia plant, based on Casale's N-ELEVA process, will be part of a large fertilizer complex that will produce 900’000 MT/y of mineral fertilizer and it is expected to become fully operational in 2025.

The site preparation works have already been completed in 2020.

«We are particularly proud for this win as it comes right in the wake of another successful project – the nitric acid plant for Navoiyazot that was put on stream exactly one year ago - and both are a testament of the growing appreciation for our technologies, which contribute to the development of the local economy by creating new jobs as well as reducing the reliance on imported fertilizers» has stated Federico Zardi, CEO of Casale.
