Turquoise Ammonia

Decarbonizing ammonia: the turquoise pathway with Casale

To provide a comprehensive service, our commitment to the energy transition also extends to technologies for producing other decarbonised ammonia.

Turquoise ammonia is produced from hydrogen derived from the pyrolysis of methane.

The carbon is removed as a solid by-product (usually in the form of carbon black). After adding nitrogen (from a conventional air separation unit), the resulting mixture is further processed in a traditional Haber-Bosch ammonia loop, which is virtually identical to a coal-based ammonia plant.

With over 100 synloops supplied for coal-based plants, we are the ideal partner to develop an optimised solution for your turquoise ammonia plant.
