Casale burner hood is made of perforated deflectors, placed at different heights to ensure uniform distribution of the air-ammonia mixture over the platinum gauzes.
Basket design ensure a proper seal and prevent reacting gases from bypassing the gauzes.
The mechanical design of catalyst basket support takes into account thermal expansion caused by the large temperature gradients between burner shell, gauzes and catalyst support basket.
Mechanical design is validated through FEM analysis to optimize its geometry and to reduce thermal stresses to minimum. Basket design can be also tailored to meet specific clients' requirements (i.e. thermocamera installation to monitor Pt Gauzes operation or the provision of a secondary catalyst basket).
